We had the pleasure of visiting WEST Youth Zone at 2 EdCity Walk, London, W12 7TF to attend their Beyond Sessions. We delivered kit donated from MJM Sports, observed the session in action, and spent time seeing how inclusive, adaptive provision can create real confidence and belonging for young people. What are Beyond Sessions?
Beyond Sessions are designed to be fully inclusive and adaptive, supporting young people aged 8 to 25 with mild learning difficulties through to more complex needs. Sessions run every Sunday, 10am–2pm, and families are welcome to attend.
Activities and support on offer include:
A fully-equipped sensory room
Adapted exercise and sport
Creative arts workshops (and more)
Activities on offer at WEST Youth Zone
One of the most impressive things about WEST is the sheer variety available — with over 20 activities per session. Young people can get involved in things like:
Climbing wall
Dance and drama
Music and recording studio
Gaming
Arts and crafts
Fully-equipped gym
Pool tables
Football (including on the roof)
Basketball
Boxing
Training kitchen
Hair and beauty
And importantly, there’s also hot food for just £1, helping make sessions accessible for families.

What we did on the day
During our visit, we:
Delivered sports kit to support young people taking part
Gave away sensory toys, helping create calm, supportive options for young people who benefit from sensory regulation
Observed the session and saw the range of activities available
Took photos to help share the impact and raise awareness
The atmosphere was welcoming, structured, and genuinely youth-centred — the kind of environment where young people can take part at their own pace, feel safe, and enjoy being active.

Visits like this are a great reminder of why SeakAid exists. SeakAid’s project aims to break down barriers to sport for disadvantaged and neurodivergent young people across the UK. We collect and redistribute pre-loved sports equipment — through partnerships with schools, community groups, and local mentors.
We’re working to pilot adapted sports sessions designed to include neurodivergent youth, ensuring their needs and voices are central to our activities. We also want to host inclusive community sports events that foster confidence, improve mental well-being, and build a sense of belonging.
The difference this makes is significant: young people who would otherwise miss out on sport gain access to the equipment, support, and inclusive opportunities they need to thrive — improving physical health, social skills, and self-esteem, while strengthening community ties and promoting understanding of neurodiversity. Our primary beneficiaries are disadvantaged and neurodivergent young people aged 10–18, reached via our network of grassroots partners.

Standout moments
One of the most meaningful parts of the day was hearing directly from families.
A mother told us:
“What you are doing is fantastic — thank you so much.”
And from our side, the visit left a strong impression:
“The place was amazing.” — Craig Cordice, SeakAid
