SeakAid x Legacy Youth Zone: Beyond Limits Pop‑Up

On Sunday 23 August, SeakAid had the pleasure of joining Legacy Youth Zone for a pop‑up session during their Beyond Limits programme. Beyond Limits is a dedicated session for young people aged 8–25 with additional needs, and it was a powerful reminder of what happens when inclusive spaces are built with care, consistency, and community at the centre.

From the moment we arrived, the welcome from the Legacy team made it clear this is a place where young people are encouraged to show up as themselves, try new things, and feel safe doing it. We were proud to be part of the day and to share SeakAid’s mission: helping more young people—especially neurodivergent and disadvantaged young people—access sport, movement, and the confidence that comes with it.

What we brought (and why it mattered)

A key part of this pop‑up was being able to donate brand new sports clothing to support young people attending the session. This was only possible because of the generosity of MJM Sports, who donated the items and helped us show up with something practical, immediate, and meaningful.

For many young people, having the right kit isn’t a “nice to have”—it’s the difference between feeling included and feeling left out. When young people have comfortable, suitable sports clothing, it removes a barrier to participation and helps them feel more confident taking part.

Learning that will shape our next steps

Alongside the donations, the day gave us something just as important: insight.

We were able to gather additional information and observations around participation needs and support needs for young people with additional needs. This will feed directly into a White Paper we’re developing as part of our Lottery Funding audit—a piece of work we’ve chosen to do so we can better evidence what young people need, what works, and where the gaps still are.

Our goal is simple: to keep improving how we support neurodivergent young people and young people facing disadvantage—so that sport and physical activity feel accessible, welcoming, and achievable.
